PBX Fraud

There is an increasing risk posed by telephone system hacking. This can result in some cases in thousands of pounds of unauthorised call charges on your bills.

The hackers attempt to gain access to your telephone system and initiate outgoing calls. They use day or evenings and weekends when businesses are open or closed to maximise the effect.

There are a couple of simple steps that you can take.
Firstly, ensure all voicemail users and groups have unique mailbox pass-codes. DO NOT use common patterns e.g. 0000 or 1234.
Also, report any abnormal call patterns to our Service Team. This would normally be international or premium rate numbers calling your premises multiple times in quick succession.
