Who are Online Systems?

We’re one of the UK’s leading providers of Phone, Mobile, Internet and Cloud solutions for businesses large and small.

We’re based in Carlisle with offices in the North East and Dumfries. We employ over 50 staff across the three locations.

We’ve been trading for over 25 years and our customers are located all over the UK, ranging from single phone lines to large business with thousands of mobile, phone and data connections.

Where are you based?

Our tailored solutions include phone lines, traditional and cloud (Hosted) phone systems, mobile plans and devices, internet and data connections, multi-site networks, cloud services, bespoke hold music and on-hold marketing, maintenance plans… the list is extensive.

We’ll never try to sell you a product off the shelf or force you to choose between options that don’t quite fit.

We’ll make everything work together to create a setup that precisely meets your needs as a business.

 

Can you provide the same services as BT?

Yes. But with unrivalled customer service and a personal approach. As an Online Systems customer, you’ll have a dedicated Account Manager – someone who knows who you are and understands your business.

Does our company have to be a certain size to benefit?

Not at all. Our smallest customers are sole traders working from home, sometimes using their phone setup to appear larger than they actually are whilst our largest customers can have thousands of phone, mobile and data connections working seamlessly together across multiple sites.

Can I get a single bill for all my services?

Absolutely. We’ll combine all your services onto a single, reasonable monthly bill. Even mobile services across multiple different networks can be integrated onto a single invoice.

Do you offer out-of-hours support?

Yes. If we provide you with a phone or internet line, we can provide out-of-hours support as an extra service. Ask one of the team for more details.

Can I buy a maintenance package on its own?

Yes. We offer maintenance packages for all kinds of office setups. You don’t have to have your services with us (though we think you should!)

Is it easy to bring my services over to Online Systems?

Yes. Every new installation is coordinated by a dedicated member of our staff – your single point of contact through the transition. They’ll manage every stage of the process and keep you in the loop.

We have the skills and experience to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible.

What mobile network do you use?

We have partnerships in place with all 4 major carriers; O2, Vodafone, EE and 3.

What is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator?

That’s us. It means we run our own mobile network in partnership with the 4 major networks. We get to set our own competitive tariffs, and can connect you to the network that has the best coverage at your location. We’re flexible and can also offer rolling 30-day contracts and capped bills to give you peace of mind. We also provide mobile management systems that give you total control over all your business mobiles.

What is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol and is a generic term like the word “digital”. Put simply; it is sending voice as data packets over a data link like a network or broadband. VoIP can represent many elements to a phone solution.

What are SIP trunks?

SIP is a type of VoIP technology that allows you to connect to a traditional, on-premises telephone system and benefit from the savings and flexibility that VoIP offers.

What is the difference between on-premises and hosted phone solutions?

On-premises phone systems (also called pbx) are the traditional telephone systems where the main central control unit would sit somewhere on your premises. Ideally a comms room (but quite often a cupboard or in the back of reception). These phone systems can still benefit from the use of VoIP technology.

Hosted phone systems are where the central control unit is located off-site in “the cloud” and you only have the extensions (handsets) on your site.

Do you offer skype/video conferencing solutions?

Not presently but watch this space. We do offer specialised internet connections that make multi-media applications like Skype work brilliantly.

What is BT Openreach?

BT Openreach owns the entire UK telephone and broadband network. We work alongside BT Openreach to keep you connected.

Can I stop my team going over their call allowance on their work mobile phones?

Yes. We can arrange caps and barring on individual numbers to give you peace of mind.

Do you offer data connections?

Absolutely. We offer data connections from your standard broadband and superfast fibre to multisite private networks.
