We believe it’s important to support our local community and contribute towards making things better. Each year we choose a cause close to our hearts and plan a year of events big and small to raise money.
In 2019 we’ve chosen to support The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of our beloved colleague Dave Holmes who passed away on the 31st of October 2018, after he bravely battled an aggressive brain tumour for almost a year.
Dave is hugely missed and was a very popular member of the Online Systems family. He was the life and soul of the party, instantly likeable, kind, full of good advice and he definitely made the days go quicker with his jokes. He was brilliant at his job and helped a lot of people out of a pickle or two over the years.
Dave worked with Online Systems for 15 years and was constantly in contact with customers – many will remember him for his Southern accent and as a guy who was a great communicator and solver of problems.
For his 38th birthday, Dave asked everyone to donate a few pounds to The Brain Tumour Charity instead of buying him cards or presents. He managed to raise a massive £790 and he was over the moon. With that in mind, we have decided that in 2019 we will be fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity in Dave’s memory.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK’s largest dedicated brain tumour charity, committed to fighting brain tumours on all fronts. The Charity funds pioneering research to increase survival and improve treatment options as well as raising awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours to bring about earlier diagnosis. The Charity also provides support for everyone affected so that they can live as full a life as possible, with the best quality of life.
